Abstract

|
Primary sclerosing cholangitis is a name condition in which unique fibrosis of wall of the common bile duct comprises its lumen. In order to quarlify it as a primary entity, the criterias for diagnosis includes progressive biliary obstruction due
to
chronic inflammatory fibrosis process, absence of biliary stones, absence of prior biliary surgery, absence of congenital anomalies, and a long enough follow-up peiod to exclude sclerosing carcinoma of the biliary system.
Recently the authors experienced a case of typical sclerosing cholangitis confirmed by operation and histologic examination. It's preoperatived diagnosis was obstruction jaundice to cholangiocarcinoma. We presents our case and reviewe the
literature.
